Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1 Install ScriptPilot from Shopify App Store

Go to the Shopify App Store and search for "ScriptPilot" or visit our app listing directly. Click "Add app" to install it on your store.

You'll need to approve the app's permissions to access your store's theme and settings.

2 Open ScriptPilot in Your Shopify Admin

After installation, you'll be redirected to the ScriptPilot app dashboard. If not, go to Apps → ScriptPilot in your Shopify admin.

3 Choose Your First Tracking Script

Click on any of the platform buttons on the homepage to add your first tracking code:

  • Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel)
  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Tag Manager
  • TikTok Pixel
  • Microsoft Clarity
  • Hotjar
  • Google Search Console
  • Custom Script

4 Get Your Tracking ID

Before adding the script, you'll need your tracking ID from the respective platform:

  • Meta Pixel: Go to Facebook Events Manager → Create Pixel
  • Google Analytics 4: Go to Google Analytics → Admin → Create Property → Get Measurement ID
  • Google Tag Manager: Go to GTM → Admin → Install Google Tag Manager → Get Container ID
  • TikTok Pixel: Go to TikTok Ads Manager → Assets → Events → Create Pixel
  • Microsoft Clarity: Go to Clarity → Add New Project
  • Hotjar: Go to Hotjar → Sites → Add New Site
  • Google Search Console: Go to GSC → Add Property → Verify ownership

5 Add Your Tracking Code

In ScriptPilot, select your platform and enter your tracking ID. Choose whether to place the script in the head or body section of your store.

For most analytics scripts, placing in the head section is recommended for better tracking accuracy.

6 Save and Activate

Click "Save" to add the script. The script will be automatically injected into your store's theme without requiring any manual code editing.

Your script is now live! It may take 24-48 hours for data to appear in your analytics dashboard.

7 Verify Installation

To verify your script is working:

  • Visit your store and use browser developer tools to check for the script
  • Use the platform's verification tool (e.g., Facebook Pixel Helper, Google Tag Assistant)
  • Check your analytics dashboard after 24-48 hours

Platform-Specific Guides

Meta Pixel Setup

1. Go to Facebook Events Manager

2. Click "Create Pixel" and give it a name

3. Copy the Pixel ID (format: 1234567890)

4. Paste into ScriptPilot and save

5. Use Facebook Pixel Helper browser extension to verify

Google Analytics 4 Setup

1. Go to Google Analytics (analytics.google.com)

2. Click Admin → Create Account

3. Create a Property and select "Web"

4. Enter your store URL and get Measurement ID (format: G-XXXXXXXXXX)

5. Paste into ScriptPilot and save

Troubleshooting

Script Not Appearing

  • Clear your browser cache
  • Check if the script is enabled in ScriptPilot
  • Verify your tracking ID is correct
  • Check if your theme has any conflicts
